A Firm Love

Affirm Love is dedicated to looking out for the overlooked, those whose needs and value are so neglected, they’re barely even considered. They’re often extremely marginalised. Violence toward them is often overlooked, excused, or encouraged, even if all they’re guilty of is existing. Even speaking up against this violence can be met with condemnation or retaliation.
The pig: Characterised as greedy, savage, and unclean. The vast majority are factory farmed, kept in miserable, cramped, dark, filthy conditions, from birth until slaughter at less than a year old. Those who make serious effort to study and empathize with pigs, tend to realize their reputation is highly undeserved. That they’re as intelligent, emotional, and empathetic as dogs; and cleaner. Their behaviour under artificial, stressful conditions is used to malign them, and our interests as humans are used to justify extreme, inhumane exploitation, undeserved regardless of their reputation.
The pig’s story is an extreme example, but often eerily familiar to those suffering on the periphery of human concern. To join us in standing up for the downtrodden and proclaiming “love is the answer”, one may adorn a fuchsia flower or fuchsia pig like our logo (more about our symbolism here). Love isn’t meant to be weak and small, it’s meant to grow big enough for all. Let’s affirm and cultivate love everywhere, until love finally conquers fear.
